As an artist submersed in popular culture, I have been greatly influenced by the frivolity of my surroundings. Popular culture tells us that we should all have diamonds on our necks and that we are nothing if we’re not on to the next trend. Materialism runs rampant around us and we have become desensitized to how ridiculous and extravagant these purchases really are. My art questions our values as consumers.
